The church is of great patrimonial value and needs substantial renovations to be restored and safely preserved. In 2000, Saint James Church underwent its first major restoration of the foundation, bell tower and other minor repairs. He was also the second Bishop of Quebec from 1826 to 1837.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #45617b;\">The large Common facing the church is the physical focus of the town and has been the site of many celebrations, most notably the Dominion Day\u00a0and Canada Day parades over the last 200 years.
